Celebrate an engineering birthday party with Rosie Revere, Engineer. 

  • Read Rosie Revere, Engineer!
  • Pose for Pictures:  Tie Rosie the Riveter bandannas and take Rosie the Riveter pictures in front of a Rosie the Riveter poster background. Available at Etsy. 
  • Make Stuff!  In months preceding the party, collect paper towel tubes, pipe cleaners, plastic cups, soda bottles, spools, string, ribbon, tape, tape, and more tape, nuts, bolts, etc.  Turn the kids loose building whatever they want to invent.
  • Pasta inventions: Let kids build with spaghetti, wagon wheel pasta, (or straight pretzels . . . ), marshmallows (big and mini) or gumdrops. Challenge them to build a vehicle or an invention to help Uncle Fred with other animals at the zoo . . .   
  • Make python repelling hats. Before party, prepare basic crown. (Check out video from NIU Stem for a sturdy hat) or create a simpler crown from scalloped & corrugated borders. (Available at teacher supply stores.) Let kids embellish their crowns with whatever you can find. Pipe cleaners, feathers, cool shaped pasta, empty spools, ribbon, pom poms, paper, Popsicle sticks, straws, beads, tape, paper . . .
